New for 2020! The Fox Valley 5K gives more of Fox Valley’s runners and walkers the chance to experience and participate in the area’s biggest weekend of running!
The Fox Valley 5K starts at 6:50am, just before the Fox Valley Marathon, Fall Final 20™ and Fox Valley Half Marathon.
The picturesque course travels out of downtown St Charles and down Rt 31and left for a tour of Mt. St Mary’s Park. Leaving Mt. St Mary’s Park, runners cross the Fox River on the Prairie Street bridge. The course then takes runners down Riverside Drive for an out and back and brings them back to a left on the Illinois Street bridge and the famous Fox Valley Marathon Races Finish Line!

The 5k will start at 6:50 am, Sunday Sept 20, at Illinois St and 1st street, just before the longer races start.
5K runners may pick up their packet race Friday or Saturday at the Expo, or race morning beginning at 5:30 at the 5K area of the Command Center in the race village.
Yes, all 5k finishers will receive a commemorative custom-designed medal.
Yes, the 5K entry includes a unique long sleeve shirt. 5K participants can elect to decline the race shirt for $5 off during their registration.
Yes, Minimum age for the 5K is 8 years old on race day. We offer a Kid’s Marathon fitness program with a final 1.2 mile run/walk the Saturday before the 5k for kids ages 4-14. (See website for details)
Yes, Consecutive year finishers of any Fox Valley distance will receive an extra medal commemorating their streak. Plus, an official 5k finish will keep your Endurance Premium streak of 13.1 mile or longer finishes alive until you are ready to tackle the 13.1 again, so you will not lose credit for your longer races already run. No, only official finishers of the Half, Fall Final 20 or Full are eligible. If you want one of the much-desired big medals, you can upgrade your 5k entry to a longer distance through race morning. (see the distance change page for details)
Yes, the 5K has an aid station near mile #2 of the course.
Yes, we encourage families to participate. Out of respect to other participants, runners and walkers with strollers should line up at the back of the starting corral. Strollers will not be permitted in the food tent after the race.
