A Message From the Race Director​

The difficult decision was made at 5:45am Sunday morning to cancel the race due to dangerous conditions on course preventing officials and volunteers from completing setup for a safe runner experience.

 

The Fox Valley team understands your frustration and we share your disappointment.  You and our team had worked hard in anticipation of a fun and successful event. 

 

All registered runners will be considered finishers for the purposes of Endurance Streak and Distance Challenge awards.  Runners who did not pick up their packets and Endurance Streak awards will be able to do so at several times and locations in the immediate future.  Stay tuned for details.

 

All registered runners will also be considered finishers and if you did not pick up your finisher medal race morning, can do so at the packet / Endurance Award pickup times and locations.

 

While we cannot offer refunds or deferrals, a discount of $18 will be available for the 2027 event (13.1 or longer distance).

 

We also need to do a better job of communicating the possibility and the implementation of weather-related updates to the event.  The early update to the website and subsequent social media posts did not reach all of you in time to make you feel well informed.   We are actively looking at how more and different messaging might improve runner experience in this area.

 

We share the disappointment of all runners and appreciate the understanding from those of you who have reached out to support what was a difficult decision.
